Several great web sites have recently evolved that provide a wealth of information about Endodontics. I encourage you to read their databases in effort to help understand this dental specialty. Keep in mind that much of the information contained in the specific sites may be quite large, and try to stay focused on your needs only. Internet search engines like Google and Yahoo can help you understand specific terms or prescribed drugs that you may be taking.
Look at the graphics, and attempt to at least achieve an understanding of the terminology so that when you visit your Doctor's office, you will at least be able to ask the questions that are on your mind. Take notes and write down any new questions that you may think of along the way.
The American Association of Endodontist's page. Type in http://www.aae.org to view 6 main sections including:
| About the AAE | For the Member |
| What's New | For the Profession |
| For the Patient | Press Room |
This is a great homepage. All patients should check out the "For the Patient" section. A complete explanation of endodontic therapy exists in that section. Nice graphics and simple explanations guide you clearly. It has been around since late December 1996, and is accumulating some nice case studies and reports with each (monthly) update. Previous published cases with supportive radiographs are kept "on file" in a Bulletin Board System (BBS) and has easy access and graphics.
A listing of AAE Member Endodontists is also available to help you find an Endodontist is you are travelling or are in need of emergency services if you may be out of town or country.
There is also a listing of endodontic graduate programs, their faculty, and e-mail listings that introduces and supports careers in Dentistry.
The American Association of Endodontists have been historically very "user friendly" and scientifically orientated. They can be reached at 800/USA-ENDO for further information.
